§ 2-47. Duties as clerk of municipal court.

  • The city clerk shall keep a docket of all cases instituted before the municipal judge, noting and endorsing the orders, judgments, etc., and the dates of the issuance and delivery of original and final process, to whom delivered and the return thereon, or the substance thereof; shall perform all the clerical work of said court, and shall keep a regular file of all the papers in all suits before the judge, and also of all other papers, belonging to the council; and if any person in default of the payment of any fine imposed by the judge shall be sentenced to hard labor or to imprisonment, the clerk shall set the judgment out on the court docket, showing the amount of the fine, whether presently paid or not, and if not so paid, the period of hard labor or imprisonment to which the defendant is sentenced.
